Conditioning Influences: Imprints, Environment and Our Identity

How physical, psycho-emotional and subtle influences intertwine with inheritance, environment and our personal choices.

A human profile interwoven with family memories, a natural landscape and a symbolic starry sky.

Our present personality profile is the result of a complex web of factors, including physical, psycho-emotional and subtle influences. The boundary between these distinctions is thin, and the categories can overlap.

Physical conditioning

Physical conditioning includes the food we have eaten over the years and the beneficial or harmful chemicals we have absorbed through water, food, air and the environment.

Psycho-emotional factors

Second come the psycho-emotional factors, which include our memories, experiences, beliefs and attitudes. These factors develop over the years through our relationships, education, culture, society and surroundings.

Subtle influences

Last, but not least, are the subtle influences, which include the cosmic energies emitted by stars and constellations, as well as the aura or subtler psycho-emotional energy. These finely vibrating frequencies carry information that can pass through matter and influence our aura and our chakras.

Immediate experience here and now

Our immediate experience here and now is mixed into all these categories. It can be short-lived, belonging to the moment, or extend over a longer period.

An example of situational conditioning would be an unexpected attack or the presence of predators while you are camping in the forest. However enlightened we may be, an attack by wild wolves would immediately return us to the level of survival.

Conditioning imprints and environmental influence

Physiological imprint

The physiological imprint consists of a person's DNA and ancestry, representing the genetic codes and hereditary factors passed down from our ancestors. It is a collection of genes transmitted on a purely physical level that form the foundation of our biological structure. They determine our physical characteristics as well as our predisposition to certain health conditions. These factors are unchangeable and form the basic structure of our biological inheritance.

Astrological imprint

The astrological imprint includes the natal chart, Human Design, Tzolkin and other astrological systems, which suggest that the moment of our birth and the position of celestial bodies influence our characteristics and path in life. It is a kind of cosmic imprint believed to influence our tendencies, behaviour, gifts and specific individual contribution to the world.

Besides our gifts, the astrological imprint can also show which of our vulnerable aspects are susceptible to conditioning or distortion. These aspects are more dynamic and can be interpreted in different ways, depending on the individual interpretation of the astrological data.

Environmental influence

Psycho-emotional influences from the environment encompass the influence of the family, society and cultural environment in which we grow up. This includes upbringing, social interactions, education and cultural norms that shape our psyche and emotional reactions. The various interactions we encounter during childhood and our early years shape our beliefs, values and attitude to life.

Interwoven with the genetic and astrological imprints, these influences have a significant effect on our behaviour and life choices. From the very beginning of life, we are enveloped in our family's energy fields — those of our parents, brothers and sisters, and other relatives. Their energy influences our energy centres, or chakras. Without our noticing, our personality is shaped under the influence of their expectations of us.

By around the age of seven, our true essence is already disguised beneath layers of family and social demands. This process is inevitable and is not necessarily negative; it is simply part of life.

A path emerges from interwoven threads into a spacious, sunlit place.

Other people's expectations and moving away from ourselves

As we develop, we come into contact with a variety of people, animals and cosmic energies that influence our thoughts, actions and choices. Our natural desire for knowledge leads us towards individuals with interests similar to our own, but integration with their energy fields can create tension in our chakras and make us concentrate on what we lack.

The goals and dreams we pursue are shaped by these external influences. There is a risk that adapting to external expectations will lead us away from our true essence and unique possibilities. Taking the path of homogenisation in our attempts to meet other people's standards, we can lose ourselves and try to “copy” unattainable ideals. Pursuing these illusory goals can lead to fatigue, failure, frustration, disappointment, anger and bitterness.

After a negative experience caused by disharmony arising from other people's expectations and influences, our brain often becomes extremely attentive to the environment. It relies on how others react to us to encourage us to retreat from our identity, continually comparing us with other people's expectations and aspirations.

This leads us to accommodate and adapt to the environment in order to feel approved of and accepted. For a time, this may look successful and may even bring benefits, but eventually it becomes a burden.

Choices and personal potential

Every decision in our life either points us along the right path or diverts us onto a painful and confusing side route. Choices made under the pressure of social influences often lead us away from our true potential. As a result, we face challenges for which we lack preparation and take on obligations that drain our energy and prevent our true gifts from unfolding.

Society's influence on our mind and consciousness is considerable. The pressure arising from these external expectations and social demands continually grows. If we do not recognise the mismatch between who we are and what society wants from us, resistance, pain, illnesses and difficulties will increase until the noose tightens so much that returning to our original purity becomes ever more laborious.

These three kinds of imprints together form the complex mosaic of the human personality, each contributing in a unique way to our identity and the path we follow through life.

Author's interpretation: this text combines hereditary and environmental factors with the author's spiritual model of the aura, chakras and astrological imprint. The spiritual relationships and age-related generalisations mentioned are not presented as established scientific facts. The text is intended for self-reflection and does not constitute a medical diagnosis or treatment.
